I know I've been really behind on my blog postings, but the truth is I've been spending some time away from the computer. The last few months I have spent more time with my wife and dedicated time for me. Just two months away from the birth of the twins and I might as well enjoy the time free that I have now. God knows our hands will be very full for a long time.

This wedding was my last for the 2009 wedding season. And a very fun one!! I met Kari at work while serving food. You see, I work in the cafeteria in the building that Kari works. Her engagement came up in conversation one day and of course I had to ask if she had a wedding photographer. The answer she gave me was not the one I was looking for. Apparently their friend was going to shoot the wedding. The months went by and she approached because her photographer was no longer available. We had an awesome engagement session with her now husband Matt. Funny thing is that he showed up to the session with a stiff neck.
We had a blast and I became so very excited to be part of their special day.

The wedding day was full of emotions, I really felt the love between family. The members of the church are great. Kari asked me to take a portrait of everyone who attended the ceremony that day. Let me tell ya!! That was challenging!! The biggest group shot I have ever taken. But we pulled thru and we got ourselves a collection of images that tell a story of love, family and friends.

Chicago Wedding with Kim and Thomas 10/24/2009

This story for me goes all the way to a few years back when I took a trip to Hollywood to visit my longtime friend Mike. Mike introduced me to a friend of his who is also a photographer. Thomas had us over for dinner the one evening and we started chatting about photography. I came back to Cleveland and the months went by. Finally I received an unexpected message that Thomas was engaged to his fiance Kim. He was very impressed with the work I shared with him back in LA and wanted to hire me to shoot his wedding in Chicago. What a privilege that turned out to be! My very first and only destination wedding. I said yes in a heartbeat. The more I learned about the wedding the more I became excited to be a part of it. Kim made her own dress spending months in a room in their apartment that Tom was not allowed to go in for about five months. The wedding took place near downtown Chicago at the Bond Chapel in the University of Chicago. The reception took place at the Montgomery's home, which is two houses from President Obama's home. This house was a work of art, just stunning. The whole wedding was very elegant and romantic. And to make things better, Kim and Thomas joined me the very next day for a post wedding shoot in downtown.

Memories for the Baby Book

Expecting babies(twins) is a feeling that has too many word to describe. This whole pregnancy has been a very beautiful ride for both my wife and I. The first three months were brutal!! It was non stop throwing for poor mindy. As a matter of fact she had a designated bucket labeled "Puke Bucket". I felt really bad as there was not much I could do but to give her some moral support. But after that first trimester, she started getting more beautiful by the minute. It is so strange, but she is glowing. We are now at almost seven months of pregnancy and we just cannot wait to meet our baby boy and baby girl in February.
This shoot was taken a month ago while taking a drive to Canal road by Valley View. The timing was perfect to catch beautiful sunset light. I put the camera on a tripod and jumped in the shots towards the end. I hope our babies enjoy looking at these when they are older.

Senior Portraits at Olmsted Falls

Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of photographing Nicole for her high school senior portraits. Nicole is graduating in 2010 and is planning to attend Kent State University to major in marriage counseling. This is my second time shooting senior portraits, Nicole contacted me because Chris Kaspar(Mr. Kaspar), brought to school his wedding album from his wedding in June. How cool is that, I would have never thought one of my weddings will bring me some Senior Portraits.

And of-course, once again I was racing with the Cleveland weather. It was suppose to rain a lot that morning but it held enough with some drizzle. There was not much sun coming thru the clouds but it's all good because a cloudy day makes a nice soft light atmosphere. Here are some images from the session. Hope you like:)

Shannon and Steve Wedding Preview

Last Saturday was the very long awaited event that I've been waiting for. Shannon and Steve's wedding!! These two are phenomenal, they are the very first couple to hire me on a big package and the very first to do an engagement photo session with me. Along the road they have become more than just clients, they are my friends. Shannon worked very hard to plan her wedding day, and even-though it rained that day, everything was perfect. Congratulations to them both! Here's a small preview.

Ladies and gentlemen!! What a wedding that was last Saturday! I had such a blast from beginning to end. My day started of course at Katie's home in Akron, Ohio. She was there getting ready with all the ladies including mom. Dad made an appearance later on to take a first glance at his baby girl. It was amazing to witness Katie become a princess.

The whole day was all about love and family. I loved loved loved the simplicity of the day. So many wonderful moments to capture! I hardly took any time to rest.

It's been one week since the wedding and I'm halfway done editing. Here's a small preview of Katie and Jordan's wedding!!

Bella Album and New Packaging!!

Here's an example of some new products that I will be offering in 2010. I hope you like my new packaging. At first I was going to use ribbons and bows, but, it just wasn't me. So I went to Home Depot and purchased rope. Then I went to Joann's Fabric and I got a hold of some really cool fabric. I love the result.

I had my fingers crossed all week long hoping that the weather would hold up for April & Chris wedding. That morning it was nothing but rain and thunder, I thought 'oh no'. Then it all cleared up! And it came to be a wonderful day at Hillbrook. This was such an elegant wedding, I am so happy with the results. I realize that I haven't posted for a few weeks, but I'm back with great news!! First of all I like to share that my wife Mindy is pregnant with our first child. During the next nine months I will be documenting my wife's pregnancy and our baby's birth. I will keep you updated with images. This it's so exciting!! I just can't wait, nine months seems like forever but I know it will be here before I know it. Now I must work harder than ever.

This is my first set of senior portraits, taken on the nicest weekend we had for a while. We did the shoot early in the morning. They seemed a little reluctant to participate in the shoot at first, but I was very surprise of how much fun it all went down. The location was University Circle close to Martin Luther King Blv. Maternity

Sunday evening I shot my first maternity portraits. We were hoping for some sun, but of course the weather in Northeast Ohio was not in our favor. So we did some inside portraits instead. I wanted to still capture the serenity that the sun creates, so I decided to attempt in recreating that feeling. Portraits taken on 04/19/09. Special thanks to Jason Kelly and Mindy Givens.

Yesterday I spent the evening with my boss and friend Doug McJunkins. Doug restores classic Banana Bikes as a hobby. He first showed me his collection in his garage, and I was very impressed with it, then he said, "wait. there's more!". He took me to his barn which was the home for over 60 old classic bikes. WOW! The location was in Berea, Ohio. The sun wasn't working with our favor so this will be part one of The Junkman's series.

On April fools day, I had a photo shoot with Jason Kelly and Rashida VanLeer. The purpose of this shoot was to take some photos for Jason's fan club page, which was created by Rashida. The sun was at the perfect spot and the sky displayed some amazing colors. Towards the end of the shoot, a cop rolled in on his motorcycle. We weren't in trouble or anything like that. He quickly realized what we where doing. So I asked him to join us for some poses. Here are some of the photos.

Katie & Jordan's E-Session

Hello everyone, today I'm still in awe from Katie & Jordan's E-Session. We had soooooo much fun and everything went very smooth. We started the day very early in the morning. Katie and Jordan came over my place at around 6:30am. Jason Kelly applied make up to Katie, while Jordan played with the Wii, LOL. Then we drove around downtown Cleveland and stopped at random locations. It's my first time doing a shoot that early in the morning and I loved it. Here are some of my favorites from the E-Session. Squire's Castle

Last week myself and good friend Monica, decided to scout a location for an upcoming wedding on May. The destination is Squire's Castle. The castle is part of the Cleveland Metroparks. Legend has it that Squire's wife ghost roams around at night. But that's ok, I don't plan on hanging out at night there anytime soon. It is a beautiful place, and I am very excited to shoot Stella and Chris wedding May 23rd.

Many have asked me about the photograph with the make up artist juggling his make up tools. Just to make it clear, it's not photoshop nor did he trow them. I used good old fishing wire:) My lovely wife Mindy volunteered her time to help me with this one. This photo was taken in my basement with strobe of camera right with white umbrella. My goal this year is to do more without PS work.

Engagement Session

Hello and welcome to my first post. First off, let me introduce myself, my name is Edric Morales, I am 23 years old and I am a photographer located in Cleveland, Ohio. I've been happily married to my wonderful wife Mindy since November 3rd, 2006. It's been a blessing so far. We have three children, our dog Atreyu and our cats, JoJo and Athena. Some of my interest include, photography, drawing, art, movies, cooking and learning. My favorite food items are lasagna and cookies and cream ice cream. Well, lets get to what this blog is all about.... Photography!

To start off I will like to share with an engagement session I photographed last year. The lovely couple in this set of images are Shannon and Steve, they are an amazing duo. They both love the Cleveland Browns with all passion. As a matter of fact, their wedding will have the Browns theme colors. Go Browns! (maybe next year) :(

This particular photo shoot was very important to me for two reasons. (1) It was my very first Engagement Session, (2) Spending the day with Shannon and Steve showed me the importance of of an E-session.

Most people are not very comfortable in front of the camera. This is normal. An E-session can give the couple a chance to see what to expect on their wedding day and it brings a sense of comfortability. That to me is very important. I want the couple to be comfortable, the pictures will show.
